Dr. Rose Kenny - Adventure Traveler

Passion for travel has always been at the top of the radar for Dr. Rose Kenny. She has traveled the world in pursuit of sports and culinary adventures, visiting places like Africa, the Australian Outback, the Amazon Jungle and Istanbul.

During her travels to Africa, Dr. Kenny has been to both South Africa and Kenya. While in Kenya, she indulged her culinary quest while sampling local exotic meats including wildebeest and zebra. Her next trip to Africa will be an excursion exploring tropical medicine, working with TROPMEDEX in Ghana.

When traveling to Australia, Dr. Kenny explored the outback, learning about the many bush spices and indulging in native foods. When she returned, she shared her new found knowledge of the bush herbs and spices by throwing an elaborate Australian Outback themed dinner party.

Dr. Kenny is passionate about kayaking and has traveled the world to explore on a canoe. She has kayaked in the Amazon Jungle, Alaska, Africa, and most recently in the Okefenokee Swamp land in Georgia.

A trip to Istanbul, Turkey was inspired by reading “Istanbul Eats: Exploring the Culinary Backstreets”. The book served as a guide to eating authentically and locally, providing the perfect backdrop for a culinary fueled adventure.

Dr. Rose Kenny practices family medicine in Redmond, Oregon at Family Care Center, which she opened in 2002. She has been trekking the globe since medical school when she spent two years abroad studying neurophysiology at the University of Freiburg in Germany.
